IDC Staff Instructor

Auditing an entire IDC, the PADI IDC Staff Instructor course involves sitting IDC Staff Instructor dive theory and standards exams plus learning how to evaluate and critique IDC candidates in Knowledge Development, Confined water and Open Water teaching presentations.

You will be learning from the most experienced PADI Course Directors.

This ensures that you will have a wealth of experience and knowledge to draw upon during your IDC Staff Instructor course and beyond.

IDC Staff Instructor, you will be qualified to assist a PADI Course Director on PADI IDC as well as independently conduct the PADI Assistant Instructor course.

The IDC Staff Instructor course is your first step on becoming a PADI Course Director. 

Who can enrol on the IDC Staff Instructor course?

Master Scuba Diver Trainers (MSDT) who are ready to be excellent role models and agree to use the PADI System and components in their entirety may enroll in an IDC Staff Instructor course.

What will you learn?

After a preassessment of your instructor-level knowledge of dive theory, exemplary dive skills and role-model presentation techniques, you'll participate in these sessions:

• Instructor development standards, procedures and curriculum
• How to organize and conduct the PADI Assistant Instructor course
• The psychology of evaluation and counseling

• Evaluating knowledge development, confined water and open water teaching presentations

Plus, you'll get to audit an IDC or practice teaching many curriculum and evaluating candidate presentations in the classroom, Confined water and Open Water.

What can I teach as IDC Staff Instructor?

As PADI IDC Staff Instructor, you are certified to independently teach the PADI Assistant Instructor course as well as assist a PADI Course Director on the PADI Instructor Development Course and other instructor-level continuing education courses such as PADI Specialty Instructor training programs.
