Boat Diver Specialty Instructor

The PADI Boat Diver Specialty course teaches the basic principles for fun, safety-oriented diving from boats, and provides student divers with an overview of boating procedures and practices. The course was designed for flexibility, so that what you teach applies to diving from large charter dive boats in tropical water or small private vessels in temperate climates. This course should help divers get more out of boat diving, whether they are motivated to do so as a means to an end (to get to the dive site) or for the fun boating offers in itself.

Learn to Teach PADI Boat Diver Specialty Course

Becoming PADI Boat Specialty instructor allows you to teach the structured program to orientate and educate your student divers about boat diving and prepares you as a Dive Instructor to teach student divers the advantages of boat diving.

You will be able to teach boat terminology, types of dive boat, basic rules, safety equipment for boat diving, boat diving procedures and etiquette and the basic guides to boating safety.

To enroll to PADI Boat Specialty Instructor Course

You must be, 

• Be at least a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor or currently participating in or have completed an IDC/OWSI Program within the past 12 months.
• IDC/OWSI candidates may apply for Specialty Instructor certification only after successfully completing a PADI IE.
• Medically fit to dive.

The course consists of two sections:

1. Knowledge Development
2. Open Water training

During the knowledge development section, you must complete the following:

• Present a knowledge development presentation from the PADI Boat Diver specialty manual by prescriptively teaching a missed question from the knowledge review.
• Review & understand the purpose and goals of the PADI Boat Diver specialty course.
• Review & explain the PADI Boat Diver course standards and procedures from the PADI Specialty Course Instructor Guide and list all student and Instructor equipment requirements.
• Demonstrate mastery of all knowledge development.
• Describe how to conduct all course segments in a manner that enables divers to meet course performance requirements.
• Participate in a marketing and promotional workshop where you will learn techniques to promote the PADI Boat Diver specialty diver course to your students and the general diving public.
• Participate in a pricing workshop.

During the open water training, you must complete the following: 

• Demonstrate mastery of all water skill performance requirements for the PADI Boat Diver specialty diver course.
• Conduct an Open Water teaching presentation from the PADI Boat Diver specialty diver course.
• Demonstrate mastery of all PADI Boat Diver specialty diver Open Water performance requirements.

Upon completion of all the course performance requirements, you will receive the PADI Boat Specialty Instructor certification.
